PP&S achieves top honors from Flowserve
CHARLOTTE, NC – Pumps, Parts & Service, Inc. (PP&S) earned first or second place in all six award categories at Flowserve Corp.’s annual distributor meeting held recently in Miami, FL. Flowserve, headquartered in Irving, TX, currently contracts with 52 distributors for North American
sales and service of their pump, power end, valve and seal product lines, as well as packaged system offerings.
Headquartered in Charlotte, NC with regional sales, service and stocking warehouse locations, PP&S is the exclusive distributor for Flowserve products in Alabama, Georgia and Virginia. “The level of performance our team achieved would be outstanding in any year. But given the mounting
challenges we’ve seen since 2008 in the industrial process and manufacturing sectors, winning top distributor honors in all categories is nothing short of stellar,” said Ray Miller, PP&S president. Flowserve recognizes its top ten distributors for sales and service performance annually, with PP&S
taking top honors for FYE 2009 in:
| Top Three ANSI Pump Distributors | PP&S - 1st place |
| Top Three Pump Distributor Branches, % Growth Total Bookings | PP&S VA - 1st place |
| Top Three Pump Distributors, Bookings: Completes | PP&S - 2nd place |
| Top Three Pump Distributors, Bookings: Parts | PP&S - 1st place |
| Top Three Pump Distributors, Bookings: Repairs | PP&S - 2nd place |
Despite a 20-30% sales reduction sustained by many industry suppliers in 20091, PP&S ended their fiscal year in September 2009 with a 2% increase in overall sales. PP&S president Ray Miller attributes the company’s ability to achieve a profit during the recession to their focus on customer
service and aftermarket services. “We’ve maintained ISO certification since 2000. This focus on continuous improvement makes a big difference in how we’re able to deliver on customer needs. During the past decade, we’ve also focused our resources on achieving lowest long-term ownership costs for our customers,” said Miller. “Already having these processes well-established has carried our customers, as well as us, through the economic downturn.”
