As part of our ongoing 6S Program, the PP&S Engineering Services team participated in a First Aid, CPR + AED training on 8/30. The training session was delivered by Cintas, which is an American Heart Association (AHA)-certified provider.
Conducted on-site in the Charlotte Training Facility, the PP&S team learned basic first aid principles, including how to recognize and respond to medical emergencies, along with specific steps for treating injuries. Our group also learned hands-on skills, using mannequins to work through case-based scenarios. In addition to basic CPR, they learned how use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) to respond to cardiac emergencies.
PP&S is fortunate to now have team members who can provide first-line response to injury or cases where a fellow worker’s breathing or heart has stopped. According to the AHA, immediate action with CPR can mean the difference between life and death for an unconscious coworker in the minutes waiting for an ambulance. Team members who are now officially Certified in CPR, AED + First Aid are:
Chad Flowe
Paul Boyles
Tyra Bean
Mark Dickson
Robert Russell
Mike Sarullo
Congratulations to this team for achieving this life-saving certification and stepping up to extend PP&S preparedness to this critical service!
